The total number of tests conducted to date is 75,053.

The total number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in SA is now 2,028, health minister Zweli Mkhize said on Saturday night.

Mkhize disclosed that a 61-year-old man from the Western Cape had died, bringing the country’s Covid-19 related deaths to 25.

“His underlying medical conditions included diabetes, hypertension and obesity,” said the minister.

“We convey our condolences to the family of the deceased and also appreciate the health workers that treated the deceased patient.”

The total number of tests conducted to date is 75,053.

Earlier on Saturday, the military disclosed that three members of the defence force had tested positive for the coronavirus. This comes as hundreds of soldiers continue to enforce lockdown compliance across the country in a bid to curb the spread of Covid-19.

The Gauteng health department, where a majority of SA’s cases have been reported, disclosed on Saturday morning that of the 801 cases, Johannesburg had 446 patients, with Ekurhuleni at 120 and Tshwane with 90 the worst affected. Ten patients are in ICU.

On Friday, Mkhize recorded 2,003 confirmed Covid-19 cases across SA, with 24 deaths and 73,028 tests conducted. Of the more than 2,000 cases, most were in Gauteng (with three deaths), followed by Western Cape (with 6 deaths prior to Saturday), KwaZulu-Natal (with 12 deaths) and Free State (with three deaths).

On Saturday night, Mkhize expressed concern about the KwaZulu-Natal infections, saying: “KZN has a high death toll, more than 6 patients have died from one institution. We need to get into why this is so. We have now decided the hospital needs to be closed down and an investigation needs to be launched.”

Durban’s St Augustine’s Hospital has been closed indefinitely, after an outbreak at the private facility. Only one ward is open, to be used as a quarantine unit for the 48 nurses and 18 patients who have tested positive for Covid-19.

Network Marketing is A business model in which a distributor network is needed to build the
business. Usually such businesses are also multilevel marketing in nature in that payouts
occur at more than one level. Network marketing is a type of business opportunity that is very popular with
people looking for part-time, flexible businesses. Some of the best-known
companies in America, including Avon, Herbalife Nutrition, Mary Kay Cosmetics and Tupperware, fall
under the network marketing umbrella.

Before even start joining it is very important to research and investigate about the business due to many scams claim to be real and legit. If you search about network marketing on Google platform they provide all informations to tell you whether that business is legit or a scam. Another easy way to see a scam is when they say invest your money and they will return profit in few days or weeks, how can you just receive profit without working? In Network marketing you work you recruit, you share business opportunity to many people to join, you build a team group of networkers to keep the business going and growing.

Network marketing is the future, people are loosing jobs left and right but if you are a marketor you are safe because network marketing is irreplaceable and endless. Technology is replacing millions jobs but networkers are safe, if you are not a networker you will never survive in future, due to technology improvement only business people will survive especially online, stop making excuses join network marketing, excuses will never pay you but delay you. ‘I am not above the law’: Somizi speaks out after criminal charges opened

By Chris Fallen
10-04-2020
Image: @somizi/via Instagram

Entertainer Somizi Mhlongo has said he is willing to accept the legal consequences of saying that transport minister Fikile Mbalula told him beforehand about the extension to the national lockdown.

Entertainer Somizi Mhlongo has vowed to accept the legal implications of what he called a β€œvery bad joke”, as the fallout over his lockdown extension comments continued.

On Thursday night, just before President Cyril Ramaphosa announced that the national lockdown would be extended by two weeks, Somizi revealed that very same piece of information.

The comment came on Metro FM co-host Dineo Ranaka’s Instagram Live video saying that β€œFikile” told him, in reference to transport minister Fikile Mbalula. The video was filmed while their show was on the air.

The minister has since opened a criminal case against Somizi for spreading fake news, in line with the Disaster Management Act and lockdown regulations β€” and Mhlongo has apologised for his comment.

It’s not personal: Fikile Mbalula on Somizi charge

“We live in times when things cannot be joked about,” transport minister Fikile Mbalula said on Friday as he opened a charge against entertainer …

Taking to Instagram on Friday afternoon, Somizi again said sorry, and said that he was willing to deal with whatever came next.

β€œThis is difficult,” he started out. β€œI’m not OK, but I’ll be OK.”

Later in the video he said: β€œWhatever legal matters or steps have been taken, I am a citizen and I’m not above the law. If I’ve gone wrong, I will respect whatever judgment or whatever verdict comes out of it. If I didn’t do wrong, because it was not intentional, it was a very bad joke, I was not even aware it was being recorded … whatever it is I need to face, I will face it, because I am not above the law.”

The entertainer added that it was a pity that Ranaka’s video was cut off when it was.

β€œUnfortunately the part that everyone didn’t see is when I said to her, ‘Ag, I was joking. I mean I don’t even know if there’s going to be an extension. No-one knows.’

β€œBut the timing was bad. The timing was horrible. Because it happened exactly like I said it, which I can also question that maybe I have the gift of seeing things because they happened. But at this point I really, really made a bad joke.

β€œI never spoke to Fikile about anything regarding that. I never spoke to Fikile at all this week,” said Somizi.

He said the situation was β€œspiralling out of control”.

β€œBecause it happened the way I said it, people don’t believe that I did not know anything about it. It was just a bad joke. Just the way I joked about Zozibini winning Miss Universe and it happened.

β€œThe timing on this one, which is a very sensitive issue, did not sit well. Which I understand. And again I apologise. I apologise to every single person that has taken offence and that has felt we broke the rules and the law, and I hope you find it in your heart to forgive me. I’m human, I make mistakes, and I’m owning those mistakes,” Somizi said in the six-minute video.

He also apologised to β€œthe presidency and the government and everyone else for what has happened”.

He said he felt this was a β€œlesson learnt”.

β€œAlso, again, I looked at this with the spiritual eye. This situation has just put some turbulence on my flight. And is it a crash? No. I’m going to hold on to it, I’m going to own it, I’m going to be in the moment, but I won’t let it crumble me or crush me. It’s a lesson learnt.

β€œIt’s God’s way. I’ve been through worse things in my life and I know how God and the universe operates. He’s teaching me a lesson and I’ve learnt a lesson, whatever that lesson is. I have faith that this too shall pass.

β€œChallenging times are just challenges, not problems. I’m going to take it one day at a time.”

Check my phones, I didn’t tell Somizi about lockdown extension: Fikile Mbalula

Transport minister Fikile Mbalula.

Transport minister Fikile Mbalula has denied that he leaked news of the extension of the lockdown to media personality Somizi Mhlongo.

This comes after Mhlongo was heard on Metro FM radio host Dineo Ranaka’s Instagram Live video saying the lockdown would be extended.

A video of the conversation is currently doing the rounds on social media, and it was widely shared just a few hours before President Cyril Ramaphosa officially announced a two-week extension of the national lockdown.

SA lockdown extended by two more weeks

SA’s lockdown has been extended by two weeks.

In it, Mhlongo can be heard saying the announcement would be made on Thursday night.

β€œToday they are announcing … the extension, I am telling you. I was speaking to Fikile [Mbalula],” said Mhlongo.

Ranaka abruptly cuts off her live broadcast as soon as Mhlongo said it was Mbalula who he was referring to.

But in a tweet later in the evening, Mbalula denied telling Mhlongo about the extension of the lockdown.

He said that at no stage did he speak to Mhlongo about lockdown β€” and that β€œmy phones can be checked or meet with him”.

β€œJust called him now to rectify,” tweeted Mbalula.

He later reposted a video on Mhlongo apologising for his comments.

In the video, Mhlongo goes on to explain that he did not speak to Mbalula but he was making a joke.

β€œI realise now that the president has announced an extension that it’s going to seem like I knew about it.

β€œI’m just like you, I did not know about it, I was just guessing. I think like everybody else I had a feeling that it was gonna be extended,” said Mhlongo.

He then apologised to Mbalula over his β€œjoke”.

South Africans Selling Beer In Cooking Oil Containers

South Africans have done it again, now selling beer in cooking oil bottles. This because of the 21 days lockdown imposed on South Africa. Citizens have to bear 21 days without liquor and cigarettes. Thus far a couple of liquor stores and taverns have been broken into – there have been several videos making rounds on social media.

No liquor sales – at all, including from grocery stores according to the lockdown regulations. South Africans are only permitted to buy basic goods.

A number of arrests have been made for contravening the lockdown regulations. On Saturday, the whole wedding party was arrested in KZN. And thus far over a thousand people have been arrested.

The cooking oil bottled beer was confiscated by the police and have more beers have been confiscated all around the country.

Day 14 of the lockdown and people are in a desperate search for alcohol. Some liquor stores have been selling in closed doors at inflated pricess

Homemade beer banned: Cops and soldiers crack down on umqombothi

No loopholes in Cele’s war on alcohol.

By Chris Fallen

2020-04-11

The South African Police Service’s (SAPS) zero-tolerance approach to alcohol during the lockdown period has extended to the home brewing of liquor and traditional beer.

Police Minister Bheki Cele wasn’t kidding around when he said that South Africans will have β€œno accesses to alcohol” during the national lockdown. With the closure of liquor stores, taverns, pubs and clubs, thirsty South Africans have turned to traditional methods of home brewing.

While the Disaster Management Act explicitly forbids the sale and movement of alcohol it does not make note of liquor brewed within the confines of one’s own home. Still, Cele β€” who has been criticised for his ’personal’ attacks on booze and cigarettes β€” has instructed that only alcohol purchased prior to the lockdown may be consumed.

Homebrewed beer down the drain

As police officers, with help from the South African National Defence Force (SANDF), mobilise across the country to force adherence to lockdown regulations, many rural communities feel they have been unfairly victimised after having their traditional practices desecrated.

In the Eastern Cape, intensified law enforcement operations saw police swoop on homesteads at the start of the long Easter weekend, scattering crowds, dumping cooked meat on the ground and emptying barrels of freshly-brewed umqombothi.

Umqombothi β€˜gathers crowds’

Police actions β€” while technically justified under the confines of the Disaster Management Act and Cele’s direct instructions β€” have been met with mixed emotions. While some have supported the law’s approach, arguing that the brewing of alcohol in rural areas was akin to a gathering call in contravention of the social distancing directive, others have lashed out at the police’s β€˜disrespect’.

On Friday, Cele conducted site visit
s to numerous law enforcement operations in Engcobo Local Municipality in the Eastern Cape. While there, he praised SAPS’ enforcement efforts and reiterated his no-nonsense approach in dealing with defiance of lockdown laws.

Similarly, members of the SANDF descended on an undisclosed area in the Eastern Cape, seizing commercial alcohol, homemade beer and ingredients used for brewing umqombothi.

5 celebs show support to Thando Thabethe after she quit radio

By Chris Fallen

UPDATE 10/04/2020

– Thando Thabethe recently tweeted reasons why she resigned from 5FM

– She walked away from the SABC radio station last month after being with them for 11 years

– Some of Mzansi’s biggest celebs have taken to social media to support the star

Mzansi celebs have been using social media to send their love to Thando Thabethe ever since she spilled the tea on why she quit 5FM.

Thabooty walked away from the SABC radio station last month after working there for the past 11 years.

She alleges that the 5FM station manager, JD Mostert, and programme manager, Siyanda Fikelepi, reneged on her contract renewal after she asked for a raise of only R200 an hour

.

The star then complained to SABC management and, after some back and forth wrangling, was offered a Sunday 4am to 7am slot.

She “found this an insult” and then decided to resign. She has blasted the station’s management in a scathing social media thread.

Local celebs have been showing support to Thando, who is also an actress, from the day she posted the thread on social media.

Take a look at five stars who have showed their support to Thando.

Radio veteran DJ Fresh – who once worked for 5FM – commented:

“I tweeted that this will probably happen, the day after you ‘resigned’. Sad that the daytime lineup is more all male, than it was even 15 years ago!!!”

Radio presenter Khutso Theledi wrote:

“Women like you don’t happen often. Never forget how rare you are Thando.”

Actress and artists advocate Rami Chuene wrote:

“You’re a ‘never say die’ I believe in you.”

Actress and presenter Thembisa Mdoda-Nxumalo wrote:

“You’re a force. God will never let you do any of it alone, get ready for an incredible new season.”

TV presenter Minnie Dlamini-Jones also commended Thando for speaking up.

“I am so proud of the woman you are!!! To speak up about the injustices of this industry is so difficult and the reality is we’ve all been there! You are not alone and God is about to show off with you.”

Enhle Mbali to star in two more movies this year!

It is safe to say Enhle Mbali is one of Mzansi entertainment’s hardest working women. Now the Isibaya actress is set to star in two more movies that will premiere this year.

Her new film is called Loving Thokoza. She plays the lead alongside Mduduzi Mabaso in the movie directed by the creator of Mzansi Magic’s Lockdown, and former Gang of Instrumentals member Mandla N.

The blockbuster is said to have been shot in nine days. According to an Instagram post by Mandla N filming started in early March. Enhle shared some behind-the-scene photos on the social media a few days after filming wrapped.

The pair reunite for the movie State Enemy No.1. Enhle plays Grace Chauke – the wife of Collen Chauke (Mduduzi Mabaso), the infamous heist kingpin and an ANC freedom fighter. The movie, produced by Elvis Nkosi and directed by Zuko Nodada, first started filming in 2017 but production was halted.

Fans have been admiring Enhle’s work ethic and anticipating the release of all the productions she will star in.

The release dates of both films haven’t been announced as the Covid-19 crisis continues to affect SA and the world.
